I am located in south Austin just off Mopac and Barton Springs at The Timberline Office Complex at 2525 Wallingwood Dr. Building 12, Austin, TX 78746. The most direct access to the building is off the northbound Mopac access road. Turn down Spyglass and enter at the 1201 Spyglass sign. I’m straight ahead in Building 12.

Invest in Yourself

Thank you for considering to work with me. I would be honored to discuss your needs and together determine if I am the right fit for you. I know from personal experience, that the work we do will serve you throughout you life.

My rate is $185 for a 60 minute session. I work Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday between 10am and 6pm and offer both in-person and virtual sessions. I see clients in office mostly on Thursdays and Fridays.

What if I cannot afford your fee?

I recognize that therapy is a significant investment and that for many therapy seems out of reach. If finances have kept you from working with a therapist who has the background, skills, and training you need, I encourage you to talk openly with me about your situation. If my case load allows, I may be able to offer a reduced fee which starts at $130 and is set based upon your budget.

I truly want you to get the support you need. If I can’t meet your budget or am currently full, I can provide a list of resources for others in town who might be able to help.

Cancellation Policy

When you schedule an appointment with me, that time is reserved exclusively for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so at least 24 hours before your scheduled session time. If you miss a session or fail to provide 24 hours’ notice, you will be charged your full session fee. Please note, insurance does not cover any portion of the fee for a missed session or late cancellation.

Insurance

You may be able to use your benefits by submitting a super bill to your insurance company. Many insurance policies reimburse for Out of Network Providers or put the amount paid towards your deductible. Every policy is different, so you’ll have to call your insurance provider to get guidance. Here are some questions to ask provider regarding out of network coverage.

Why wouldn’t I use insurance if I have it?

Insurance is great if you can find the right person to work with who takes your insurance. Sadly, there are times that using insurance becomes a barrier to care. Here are some reasons people don’t or can’t use their insurance are: the desire to protect their privacy; high deductibles or poor coverage; restrictions and/or limitations as to the type of therapies you can participate in, the number of sessions they’ll approve, and a limited selection of providers who are taking clients and have the qualifications that would most benefit you. It is for these reasons that many clinicians reserve sliding scale slots rather than continue to work within the demands of insurance.

In addition, many people don’t want to insurance involved with their treatment as it opens the door to requiring a formal diagnosis, determination of medical necessity, and treatment reviews which may include a review of session notes. Working with a a private-pay practice you’re in control of your therapy, not the insurance company.

You might ask why I’m not on insurance. Well, I was, for about 10 years. But between the additional admin time, difficulty getting reimbursed, and the pressure from insurance to get you “functional” but not necessary healed, I finally resigned. I wanted more flexibility to care for you as you needed and a smaller case load so I could focus on my clients, not paperwork. I have that now, and I believe we both benefit.
